Fire, water, earth, and air, I call on you as I prepare…
Yesterday I created four adorable little jars to represent the four elements. I wanted to put the ingredients here for my own future reference. Sometimes it’s useful to have a list of ingredients that could represent any of them.
Earth
soil from my flower beds, mineral dirt from a local cave, small river rocks, moss from a mountaintop, oak lichen from my childhood home, coleus seeds collected from my plants, a small pinecone, tigereye jasper, a very green honeysuckle leaf, aventurine, acorn caps, a fir twig and needles, crystal piece from a geode I cracked, “N” bead to represent North
Air
rice, clear quartz, moonstone, citrine, feathery seeds, boneset, dandelion seeds, helicopter maple seeds, white feather, white moth wing, yellow opal, “E” bead to represent East
Water
sand*, lapis lazuli, sodalite, blue glass, sea shells, blue and green flourite, butterfly pea flower, one smooth river rock, sand dollar teeth, crab claw, shark tooth, driftwood bits, salt, “W” bead to represent West
Fire
ash, black Hawaiian salt, dried camellia petals (very burnt orange), sunflower, calendula, rosebud, poinsettia dust, honesuckle flower, sandalwood, carnelian, red jasper, holly berries, rhodonite, allspice, star anise, cinnamon bark, charred dragon’s blood sage incense, “S” bead to represent South
*Hilariously, I actually didn’t have any sand on me. So I used cordyceps. The powder looks a lot like sand.
