Some Latin

I’ve been collecting some Latin phrases. In general, I like the idea of using some form of secretive shield in spellwork; this could be runes, sigils, a rhyming scheme or another language. Just a small way to protect the work in a form that is meaningful to me.

for calling the corners:

ignem accendere voco

“ing-yem ay-CHEN-dare-ay voco” (I call to kindle the fire)

scandere montem

“scan-DARE-ay mone-tem” (climb the mountain)

inmergo oceanus

“in-MAER-go-chay-AN-oos” (plunge into the ocean)

et volare a vento

“et vo-LAR-ay uh VEN-toh” (and fly by the wind)

ignem, aquam, terram et aerem

“ing-yem ah-qwam tear-am et AYE-air-em” (fire, water, earth and air)

imple me virtute

“im-pull meh vur-TOO-tay” (fill me with power)

Ostara chant for good luck:

bona fortuna donatus a luna

“bone-ah fore-TOON-ah done-AH-toos ah loon-ah” (given good fortune by the moon)

beati erimus ubi abundimus

“bee-AH-tee air-EE-moos oo-bee ah-boon-DEE-moos” (we shall be happy where we abound)

misc phrases:

dirigo animus spiritus

“deer-EE-go ANI-moos SPEER-ee-toos” (I direct the mind & spirit)

sic erit

“seek air-it” (so it will be)
