TLDR: The basic idea is –
Write your desire 3 times in the present tense
Write your intention 6 times
Write the outcome 9 times
You Will Need: a pen and notebook or paper, tarot cards, and some sort of talisman to represent your manifestation. You will charge it during this ritual. This can be a rock or slice of wood with a painted sigil/symbol (consider futhark runes if that’s your thing), an object you enjoy, a crystal, whatever you’re into. If just needs to be something you are able to hold in your hand. If you choose to cast a circle with candles, you will need a lighter or matches.
My manifestation work has mostly been about personal improvement in spellwork. But you can obviously target any kind of intention for the cycle. I write it as a page in my journal and revisit it at the first quarter, full, and third quarter moons to work with each statement individually and reflect on my progress.
Optional: Before ritual, I like to create a sigil especially for my intention. I’ll use a different phrase than any of the three I write for the actual ritual. I also like to cast a simple circle with markers at the cardinal directions (earth in the north, air in the east, fire in the south, water in the west) and candles in between.
- Cleanse the space, set the vibes, collect all your materials. Ground, raise energy – do all the things. Put away any distractions in your line of sight. If you choose to cast a circle with physical objects, set it up to get a feel for how much room you’ll need. If you use candles, don’t light them until you’re in the circle and ready to cast.
- Enter the circle with everything you need, then light the candles, then cast. I use the lighthouse incantation but you can also just call the four corners or visualize it. If you’re not using a circle, simply begin.
- Start with a three card tarot spread: What’s ready to begin? How can I work with this energy? How can I support myself in my intentions? Use the results to help you decide what your three statements are going to look like.
- I like to recite a simple “out with the old, in with the new” incantation a few times before setting new intentions:
- THREE: Then write your desire three times in the present tense. For example, instead of “I want” or “I will” use language like “I am” or “I have”. When you’ve finished, state it aloud once.
- SIX: Write your intention on the same paper six times. State it aloud once.
- NINE: Write the outcome of your intention nine times. You might be sick of writing by now but you’ll sure as hell remember what you’re manifesting. State the outcome aloud once.
- Hold your talisman in the palm of your projective (dominant) hand. Hold your receptive (nondominant) hand palm face down. Draw from the power of the earth with your receptive hand and channel the energy through your projective hand to charge the talisman. Recite this as you do so (I like to say it nine times):
- When you feel your talisman has been charged, rest and regroup. Ground yourself. Sometimes I like to pull a few more tarot cards. When you feel your work is complete, close the circle, or wrap it up with a “so mote it be” if you’re not in a circle. Keep your talisman on your altar through this cycle to remind you of your intentions and goals.
a cycle passed, the slate is clean
now I release my old routine
three desires, six intents
nine results that I invent
the time is now, the moon is new
and by my word, it will be true
When the first quarter moon comes around, I take a look at the first “desire” statement and evaluate how true it is and work with it again accordingly. I do the same with the full moon and my intention statement, and the third quarter my outcome statement. More work may be required at these points depending on how I feel I’ve progressed.
